Sized for the smaller battery compartments that won’t take a full AA, this lithium-thionyl chloride cell runs at 3.6V and suits equipment left to monitor quietly for years rather than draw heavy current. Self-discharge is under 1% a year, so a spare kept in the drawer is still good when you finally need it. It is not rechargeable and is not a substitute for a 1.5V alkaline.
